Austrione
God of Darkness
One of the The Forgotten Gods, removed from the pantheon ages ago, Austrione, like Verszagro and Morigoth, is still worshipped to this day, albeit in secret. Today, worship of these so-called Forgotten Gods is frowned upon by society and, in most parts of the world, illegal. But that doesn't stop cults, similar to the Sechi Legion yet smaller in scale, from cropping up the world over. One example, which the Maji Guard continues to look into, would be the Brothers of Blood, a cult of necromancers and blood mages who worship Austrione.
According to scripture, Austrione is one of three deities who were cast out from the Sacred Nexus after attempting to destroy life in Terr'ahna, disobeying a strict law which the Gods of the Sacred Nexus hold most sacred: To never interfere in the lives of mortals, except when absolutely necessary. Now it is said that these three Forgotten Gods continue to interfere in the lives of mortals from the shadows, biding their time until they can re-take the Sacred Nexus.
