Sean o' the 'osis, formerly Wee Sean o' the Loche Ness, had'd a tremendous morning so far. Tremendous indeed, the missus had wanted a dainty breakfeast so's he had to go fishing for wee Walleyes. What a muffin he would've looked to outsiders with a great sea serpent head on his shoulders and trying to slide Walleye off his teeth with human hands. Still his Maeve was a braw beauty 'n their bairn would be even stronger when the wee tyke finally emerged into the world. A Scottish sea serpent/Irish dragon hybrid hadn't happened in Clan Finley's history since the Great War against the Helwulfr.

Auch, at least he'd bin able to have his own breakfast this time. Nothing could beat the simple pleasure of a bit of fried trout with chicken eggs. Sean tipped his head as the bitty songbirdies abruptly stopped their twittering. That hadn't happened since he and Maeve had first showed up at the shores of Winnipegosis. Water closed over his head as he dove deep and retook his true form. His fins propelled him swiftly back to the surface. With his newly re-embiggened nostrils, the stench of death hit him like a 12 tonne boulder. His size and speed made it easy to cover the lake in search of the stink's source.

Sean found it on the far shore, floating face-down in the shallows. The body was covered in dried blood while shards of broken rib stuck out mid-back. A simple but forceful command to the water revealed the corpse's face - bloated and blue on the lower half, shrivelled and sunken on the upper. Meanwhile, somebody or something had plucked the eyes full from their sockets.

"Something dinna like ya, eh? Well, s'pose I'll have to take ya to the Thighearna Rook or whatshisname in the City so's they can figure what happened to ya. Give ya a proper burial least wise if'n they can't."

Back at the Loche the waters'd been controlled for millennia so's they hadn't needed even be in the water to control 'em. The Winnipegosis, she was another matter, she liked rebelling when he wasn't in direct contact with 'er. At least Maeve hadn't felt like leaving home much lately so he needn't worry 'bout her stressing herself trying to swim up against the currents.

Gently, Sean picked up the body and started the trek to His Thighearnas's manor.
