For Bestiary February, we challenge you to flesh out the fauna of your world! Below you can find 27 one-word prompts—use them to inspire your worldbuilding this month and earn a shiny badge while you're at it!

How to Enter

For each prompt, create something for your world! It can be an article, a poem, art, or anything else. Collect all Bestiary February content you made in a single generic article and submit it before the end of the month to get a badge! This is a relaxed, laid-back challenge—you don't need to complete any minimum number of prompts to qualify for the badge!

Other Information

The generic article only needs to contain links to the worldbuilding you created for each prompt. But we encourage to add short descriptions or, if you enter with art or maps, to embed them directly.
The minimum word count of the generic article you submit is 50 words. There is not a maximum word count.
The article must be submitted before February 28th at 7pm Anvil Time to be eligible for a badge.
Only one article may be submitted per person (this does not mean one article per world, in cases where multiple authors work on a single world).
As always, World Anvil claims no ownership over your original work.

Step by Step Instructions

Make sure you have a World Anvil account.
For each prompt, create a piece of worldbuilding inspired by the word.
Create a new Generic Article in your world. Add a link to each article you've written, or embed your art, maps or other media content you've created.
Make sure the generic article is not a draft (i.e. published) and public (i.e. not private).
Submit the generic article before February 28th! To do so, click the "Submit" button in the right sidebar.
